Grow through Discovery

One of the primary ways we seek to know God is through hanging out with others and discussing the Bible together. We call these meetings Discovery Groups as we usually approach the text with open questions. Our prayer is that we will get to know God, the Bible and ourselves better.

To Join a Discovery Group please add your details below and we will be in contact about the next available group. Groups begin every few weeks.

If you are interested to start your own group or joining us in other activities we would love to hear from you.

GWG Aims and Objectives

(1) To empower one another to prayerfully fulfill our God given destiny. This is made possible through a dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ, the presence of the Holy Spirit, knowledge given through the Bible and good friends on the journey.

(2) To promote genuine community and connection among club members facilitating friendship and support for all students from all backgrounds. This is fostered by practicing hospitality among local students, international students, and Wollongong residents through the following type of events:

  • International food exchange events

  • Local Hospitality

  • Social events: Bush walking, BBQ’s, movie nights

(3) To promote knowledge of God through activities such as: Bible Discovery Groups, Prayer, large group meetings and discussion

(4) GwG seeks to develop student Leaders through all club activities. Leadership training is provided in the “train the trainer” manner so that simple reproducible skills can be propagated through club activities. This facilitates leadership opportunities at every level within the Club.

(5) The way disciples gather needs to be shaped by every generation and context. As such, GWG seeks to empower students to explore contextual contemporary church forms that carry the substance of Jesus’ intentions for His followers as they gather (see Acts 2:36-47 for an example of a good church).
